The
Center for Rhizosphere Biology is located in the Shepardson Building,
and is administratively housed within the Department of Horticulture
and Landscape Architecture. Organizationally, it consists of an
Administrative Director, an Assistant Director, a group of affiliate
faculty members, an Assistant Professor of Research, and a Research
Team comprised of post-docs and graduate students from various departments
on campus. It is governed by the Director in conjunction with an
Internal Steering Committee and an External Advisory Board.
Administrative
Director and Head of Research (Dr. Jorge M. Vivanco):
Duties include technical, scientific, and administrative
direction of the center, networking with other scientists interested
in rhizosphere biology at Colorado State University and other institutions,
communicating our research to the public, organizing and promoting
venues to promote and disseminate the Center’s research in
the scientific and public communities, and fundraising.
Assistant
Director (Emily Wortman-Wunder):
Duties
include budgeting; acting as the contact person for integration
with the Horticulture Department; direction of outreach and promotion
of research; integration with the Fort Collins community and with
the State of Colorado, day-to-day administrative and managing duties,
and coordination of the center’s seminar series.
