What is a PASI?

The Pan American Advanced Studies Institute (PASI) program was developed jointly by the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation with the aim of disseminating advanced scientific knowledge and stimulating cooperation and collaboration between scientists of the Americas. To this end, all PASIs solicit an equal number of participants from the United States and the rest of the countries of North and South America, and the PASI lecturers are drawn from universities throughout the Americas. Each PASI is intended to be a jumping-off point for future projects and collaborations.
